This policy explains your right to cancel the DRYVR service and how refunds are handled. It respects your statutory rights as a consumer and does not seek to remove or waive them.
DRAFT FOR REVIEW: This policy must be reviewed and completed by a qualified UK solicitor before launch. The wording below reflects the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 but must be verified for your specific circumstances.
1. Your 14-day statutory right to cancel
Because you buy the DRYVR service online (a distance contract), under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel within 14 days without giving a reason. The cancellation period ends 14 days after the day on which the contract is entered into (the day you pay the £500 DRYVR fee).
2. How to cancel
To cancel, tell us clearly before the 14-day period ends — for example by email via our contact page. You may use a clear statement such as: "I cancel my contract for the DRYVR service." We will acknowledge your cancellation without undue delay.
3. Services and early commencement during the cancellation period
The DRYVR service is a service (not physical goods). Normally we would not begin providing the service until the 14-day cancellation period has ended. However, you may ask us to begin sooner.
- If you do not request early commencement: we will not start the service until the 14-day period ends. If you cancel within that period, you receive a full refund of the DRYVR fee.
- If you expressly request that we begin during the 14-day period (for example, so you can start your onboarding and strategy session straight away), and you then cancel before the period ends, you remain entitled to cancel, but we may charge you a proportionate amount for the service actually provided up to the point you told us you wished to cancel. The balance is refunded.
- If you expressly request early commencement and the service is fully performed within the 14-day period — with your acknowledgement that you would lose your right to cancel once the service is fully performed — you will no longer have the right to cancel that fully-performed service.
Where the onboarding process asks you to confirm early commencement, that request and any acknowledgement are recorded so both parties understand the effect on the right to cancel.
4. How refunds are paid
Any refund due is made using the same payment method you used to pay (via Stripe), without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we are informed of your decision to cancel. We do not charge a fee for issuing a refund.
5. What is not refundable
Third-party costs you incur directly (such as auction fees, transport, insurance, vehicle tax, repairs, parts, detailing or advertising) are not paid to DRYVR and are not part of the DRYVR fee, so they are not refunded by DRYVR. Your vehicle capital is never collected by DRYVR and therefore is not part of any refund.
6. After the cancellation period
Once the 14-day statutory cancellation period has ended, refunds are at our discretion and depend on the extent of service already provided, except where you have separate legal rights (for example if the service was not provided with reasonable care and skill).
7. Your other legal rights
This policy is in addition to your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to a service performed with reasonable care and skill. Nothing here limits those rights.
